Wolf Bill Up On House Floor!

Dear MUCC Members,

We’re almost there. Thanks to your efforts in contacting your legislators, SB 1350 has passed a Senate

Committee, the full Senate, and now the House Natural Resources Committee, too. We’re not done yet,

though: the bill to authorize a wolf hunting season is up on the House floor, and could be voted on as soon as tomorrow!

Please contact your State Representative today, and if you have already done so, encourage your friends and family to do the same. The more the merrier.

Contact your Rep today and tell them that you support science based management for wolves that the people asked for through Proposal G in 1996. Respectfully ask your representative to vote “YES” on SB 1350 when it comes up for a vote on the House floor.

Google to Censor Firearms Related Shopping Results

http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2012/06/foghorn/google-censor-firearms-related-shopping-results/ Google to Censor Firearms Related Shopping Results

Posted on June 28, 2012 by Nick Leghorn

A user on 68forums.com received a troubling email from Google last week. We knew that Google was passing on providing advertising for the multi-billion dollar industry that is the firearms and weapons market, but it turns out that now you will not even be able to search for firearms related items in their Shopping search engine. Where once was displayed page after page of results for firearms, there is now nothing left but a desolate blank page. Make the jump for the full letter and more information…

Dear Merchant,

We’re writing to let you know about some upcoming changes to the product listings you submit to Google. As we recently announced, we are starting to transition our shopping experience to a commercial model that builds on Product Listing Ads. This new shopping experience is called Google Shopping. As part of this transition, we’ll begin to enforce a set of new policies for Google Shopping in the coming weeks. A new list of the allowed, restricted, and prohibited products on Google Shopping is available on our new policy page – http://www.google.com/appserve/mkt/ApI7UWRj6OCZpd.

Based on a review of the products you’re currently submitting, it appears that some of the content in your Merchant Center account, HamLund Tactical, will be affected by these policy changes. In particular we found that your products may violate the following policies:

Weapons

When we make this change, Google will disapprove all of the products identified as being in violation of policies. We ask that you make any necessary changes to your feeds and/or site to comply, so that your products can continue to appear on Google Shopping.

To help you through this new set of policies and how to comply with them, we would like to give you some specific suggestions regarding the changes needed to keep your offers running on Google Shopping.

Weapons
As highlighted on our new policy page http://www.google.com/appserve/mkt/ApI7UWRj6OCZpd, in order to comply with the Google Shopping policies you need to comply first with the AdWords policies http://www.google.com/appserve/mkt/StQ08jAzM4fVtG. We do not allow the promotion or sale of weapons and any related products such as ammunitions or accessory kits on Google Shopping. In order to comply with our new policies, please remove any weapon-related products from your data feed and then re-submit your feed in the Merchant Center. For more information on this policy please visit http://www.google.com/appserve/mkt/GbBNIGHOribLzf.

We’re constantly reviewing our policies, and updating them when necessary, to ensure we’re offering the best experience possible to our users. We’ve identified a set of policy principles to govern our policy efforts on Google Shopping in the U.S. These principles are:

1) Google Shopping should provide a positive experience to users.
Showing users the right products at the right time can truly enhance a user’s experience. When people trust us to deliver them to a destination that’s relevant, original, and easy to navigate this creates a positive online experience to the benefit of both users and merchants.

2) Google Shopping should be safe for all users.
User safety is everyone’s business, and we can’t do business with those who don’t agree. Scams, phishing, viruses, and other malicious activities on the Internet damage the value of the Internet for everyone. Trying to get around policies or “game the system” is unfair to our users, and we can’t allow that.

3) Google Shopping should comply with local laws and regulations.
Many products and services are regulated by law, which can vary from country to country. All advertising, as well as the products and services being advertised, must clearly comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
For the most part, our policies aren’t designed to describe every law in every country. All advertisers bear their own responsibility for understanding the laws applicable to their business. Our policies are often more restrictive than the law, because we need to be sure we can offer services that are legal and safe for all users.

4) Google Shopping should be compatible with Google’s brand decisions.
Google Shopping must be compatible with company brand decisions. Our company has a strong culture and values, and we’ve chosen not to allow ads that promote products and services that are incompatible with these values. In addition, like all companies, Google sometimes makes decisions based on technical limitations, resource constraints, or requirements from our business partners. Our policies reflect these realities.

We’ve given much thought to our stance on this content, as well as the potential effect our policy decision could have on our Merchants, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Sincerely,

The Google Shopping Team

You have received this mandatory email service announcement to update you about important changes to your Google Merchant Center account.

I’m frankly not surprised that Google’s “strong culture and values” will gladly point you to the finest tentacle rape hentai available on the internet but will not let you research your next firearms purchase. What surprises me is that this move is seen by Google to increase shopper safety and promote a positive experience. Quite frankly the act of restricting what I can and cannot search for does just the opposite.

Google has made some great strides towards openness and freedom of speech, but it seems that their idea of freedom of speech doesn’t extend to firearms.

GLOCK to Introduce new Gen4 Models at 2012 SHOT Show

December 15 : 2011
GLOCK to Introduce new Gen4 Models at 2012 SHOT Show
Smyrna, GA (Dec. 13, 2011) – GLOCK’s newest generation pistol, the Gen4, brings revolutionary design changes to the world’s most popular pistol. New to the Gen4 family, GLOCK will introduce the G21 (.45 Auto), G32 (.357) and G34 (9X19) Gen4 models at the 2012 SHOT Show in Las Vegas.

The ergonomics of the Gen4 pistol have been refined by adding a Multiple Back Strap (MBS) system to the grip of the pistol. Each Gen4 comes with three difference grip options: a short, medium and large size, enabling the pistol to adapt to each individual shooter’s hand size with the removal and insertion of a single pin. In addition, the grip has also been given a new Rough Textured Frame (RTF) to increase grip traction.

The Gen4 magazine release catch has been enlarged and is reversible for the ambidextrous shooter. To utilize the interchangeable magazine release feature, the Gen4 magazines have two notches cut on each side of the magazine body, allowing users to switch access of the catch to the left or right side of the pistol with no additional parts. Previous magazines will continue to work in the Gen4 pistols as long as the magazine release catch is left in its original position.
Internally, the original recoil spring has been replaced with a dual recoil spring assembly, which noticeably reduces felt recoil while simultaneously increasing the life cycle of the pistol.

“GLOCK’s dedication to perfection has made it the chosen firearm for approximately 65% of law enforcement agencies in the United States.” said GLOCK, Inc. Vice President, Gary Fletcher. “The Gen4 models are another step in that commitment to producing the best firearm for law enforcement, military and law-abiding citizens around the world.”

The Gen4, like all GLOCK pistols, has the same tested SAFE ACTION® system, durable exterior finish, cold hammer forged barrel, durability, reliability and light weight that have made GLOCK firearms famous. All GLOCK pistols are backed by the GLOCK Limited Lifetime Warranty and world-class customer service and support that is second to none in the firearms industry.

Armalite — New Rifles for 2012

November 15 : 2011
Armalite — New Rifles for 2012
ArmaLite’s “History of Innovation” continues! The originator of the AR platform has turned its popular M-15 SPR Mod 1 system into a “Family of Calibers.”

ArmaLite’s Mod 1 carbine started as a .223/5.56mm carbine built around a revolutionary one-piece upper receiver/rail system with exclusive detachable side and bottom rails.

This year, ArmaLite goes a step further, introducing the SPR Mod 1 6.8mm SPC II and the SPR Mod 1 7.62X39mm. Both mid-length carbines continue the “ArmaLite Standard of Excellence.”

ArmaLite’s SPR Mod 1 6.8 is especially well-suited to hunting. It is powerful enough to meet the minimum energy requirements of many states for taking medium sized game such as deer. At the same time, the 6.8mm is lighter than the 7.62×51, reducing the weight of ammunition carried into the field. As part of the AR-platform family, this carbine is also more versatile and ergonomic than traditional hunting models. The Mod 1 6.8mm is built with the ArmaLite-developed mid-length handguard and gas system to provide the best in form and function.

ArmaLite’s SPR Mod 1 7.62X39mm provides all the flexibility of the Mod 1’s one piece upper receiver/rail system but now for the world’s most available cartridge. The original AK-47 was built to use this cartridge.

Now, enthusiasts of the 7.62X39 won’t have to settle for less than the best: a true ArmaLite carbine. The ArmaLite designed mid-length handguard and gas tube technology provides an optimal gas pulse to power the 16″ system so reliability is never an issue.

More on the SPR Mod 1 platform:

The SPR Mod 1 is forged, one-piece upper receiver/rail system with exclusive detachable side and bottom rails.

In true ArmaLite fashion, the SPR Mod 1 is like no other on the market. With other one-piece systems, you’re stuck forever with the rails you get at purchase, and stuck with their limits.

But ArmaLite knows you and your firearm often have more than one mission, and you want options. ArmaLite gives you just that. The SPR Mod 1’s three o’clock, six o’clock, and nine o’clock rails are detachable. That’s right, you can change your 1913 rails to fit your changing needs for sights… lights…lasers…grips…or swivels.

ArmaLite takes that versatility even further. Each SPR Mod 1 comes with extra rails standard, at no extra cost. We give you a 1913 rail with quick detachable sling swivel hole. Each rifle comes with a low insert for when you need a bare rail with a low profile. There’s also a plain insert with a quick detach sling swivel hole. And there is a half plain, half Picatinny rail as well. Changing your rails…your add-ons…and your SPR Mod 1… is as easy as turning a torx wrench.

Ingenious versatility isn’t the only reason you’ll want an SPR Mod 1. Its one-piece construction offers you a continuous optic platform (COP). There’s no gap to bridge between receiver and upper rail when you’re installing your scope or sights. This one-piece construction also gives the sighting platform extra rigidity. It’s a good, strong backbone. That means your sights will stay zeroed in the most trying conditions.

The SPR Mod 1 typifies the “ArmaLite Standard of Excellence.” With us, quality comes standard. There’s no extra charge for: the SPR Mod 1’s chrome lined, chrome moly vanadium steel barrel; its two-stage tactical trigger; the patented, extra strength steel bolt assembly; or the hard coated finish. These are all things that the other companies consider options at an added cost.
The introduction of the new ArmaLite SPR Mod 1 is truly a new chapter in our history of innovation and our dedication to the quality you deserve.

PRODUCT: Thompson Center Venture Rifle.

DESCRIPTION OF THE HAZARD: During an internal technical review, Smith & Wesson determined that some of the sears used on Venture rifles produced from August 1, 2011 to October 28, 2011, may not have been manufactured to specification. Because the sear is an important part of the firing mechanism, we are asking that all of the rifles produced during this time period be returned to Smith & Wesson so that the firearm can be inspected by our technicians to ensure that the rifle operates in a safe and appropriate manner.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PRODUCT INVOLVED: This recall applies only to Venture rifles manufactured from August 1, 2011 to October 28, 2011. To determine if your rifle is affected, please reference the serial number list located at www.smith-wesson.com/venturerecall or by calling Smith & Wesson directly at 1-800-713-0356. If your serial number does not fall within the list of affected serial numbers, your rifle is not part of this recall.

REMEDY/ACTION TO BE TAKEN: STOP USING YOUR RIFLE. Any unintended discharge of a firearm has the potential to cause injury, and we ask that you stop using your rifle until we have an opportunity to inspect the sear to make certain that there is no condition which will allow the rifle to fire without the trigger being pulled. To facilitate the inspection and repair, if necessary, of your rifle sear, please contact Smith & Wesson’s customer service department to receive instructions and a prepaid return label for the return of your rifle to Smith & Wesson. When you return your rifle to Smith & Wesson, be sure to attach the completed information card received from Smith & Wesson, so that your sear can be inspected and repaired, and returned to you as quickly and efficiently as possible.

VERIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION: When your rifle sear is returned, you should note a punch dot on the trigger assembly. This punch dot is confirmation that your sear has been inspected and the hazard has not been found or has been corrected.

CONSUMER CONTACT: Please contact Smith & Wesson directly at 1-800-713-0356, or at venturerecall@smith-wesson.com to arrange for the inspection and repair, if necessary, of your rifle.
